This volume type is reasonably straightforward. The sum of the available space from each node is the total space on the global namespace (another name for the GlusterFS volume mount).

An example is a request of 50 TB volume where the amount of space needed for the bricks is precisely 50 TB. This can be divided into five nodes with 10 TB each or two nodes with 25 TB each.
