Plone is the CMS behind some of the web's largest, most complex sites. However, you can install and run it on your workstation or laptop quickly and easily.

In this chapter, Steve McMahon will show you how to install Plone for learning, testing, or development purposes on Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux platforms, using installation kits provided by the Plone community. We'll also look at the steps required to install Plone from source code.
